Seaview Dog Training and Boarding

Dogs have been a constant in my life since I was just 2 years old. Growing up my family had German Shepherds and later, Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. 

As soon as I had a home of my own, I began showing Cavaliers and quickly became immersed in the world of dog showing and handling. I even ran a local Ringcraft class and often handled Dachshunds for a friend. 

Over the years my love for dogs has led me to own and work with a variety of breeds, including Labradors and Tibetan Spaniels. 

Eventually, I fell in love with Standard Smooth Dachshunds, continuing to show them and I even had a litter. 

I have also trained one of my dogs as a Pets as Therapy dog. He completed all levels of the Good Citizen Dog Scheme, and it was through this that my love of dog training truly deepended. 

I became involved in helping teach Bronze and Silver classes, later exploring Scentwork and Mantrailing with my own dog. 

Sadly, he suffered a severe Grade 5 IVDD (intervertebral disc disease). 

Despite surgery, he remains doubly incontinent and partially disabled, but he continues to enjoy regular exercise and mental stimulation. His resilience has been a constant source of inspiration. 

This wasn't my first experience with IVDD. I previously owned a bitch with Grade 4. She made a full recovery after surgery thanks to dedicated physiotherapy and rehabilitation. Through these experiences, I've learned hands-on how to support dogs with complex needs, both physically and emotionally. 

After 45 years of working in nursing, I have finally retired to pursue my true passion: working full time with dogs! 

For the past 3 years I have been working with The Company of Animals, assisting with puppy, improver and scent detection classes. 

I have been doing courses with IMDT, Kent Companion Dog Training and Companion Dog Trainers Academy. 

My journey with dogs has been lifelong, heartfelt and full of learning-and I look forward to sharing that knowledge and passion with others, whether its through training, support or simply celebrating the incredible bond between dogs and humans.
